Church Plant

A new church plant

Project: A new Revival Center Church.

Area: In the mountains East of Guatemala City

Distance: A four-hour drive from the Blacks house to the 4WD trail and then another hour.

The Revival Center Church, Piedra Ancha

This is a very new project and a new church that we are raising up in an unreached area of the world. Piedra Ancha is an isolated community, unreachable except by a 4WD vehicle or by walking 5 hours in.

4WD Road to Piedra Ancha

In the community where these people live, there are no stores of any kind, no doctors or medicine, no streets, no lamp-posts, no help from the outside world, and there are no churches of any kind.

These people live in houses made of sticks covered with mud and have dirt floors. They do have electricity, a community water spigot and the beginning of a congregation of the first and only Christian church.

The pastor and some helpers will be coming down to the city every month to receive intense pastoral training and orientation. We will be going up to see them every few weeks to continue to lay spiritual foundations, eventually build a simple building, equip this church with chairs, a sound system, etc.

Piedra Ancha

We are excited about this project, but more than anything we are excited about how God found and pulled Mike Black Ministries into building a place for Him at the uttermost parts of the earth.

If this project touches your heart and you can help…

1) We would like to invite doctors and dentists to work with us for a few days in this area.

2) We need another 4-wheel-drive vehicle ASAP (year ‘98 – ‘05 Pick-up; Japanese works out better for parts).

3) We need extra financing to cover travel and other expenses apart from chairs and a sound system.
