Where do abandoned teenagers go when their parents don’t want them anymore?

How does this efect them emotionally?

What do these kids do afterwards?

Here’s the answer:

1) Join gangs, steal and kill

2) Sleep on the streets

3) Turn to drugs, glue, alcohol

4) Turn to prostitution

5) Comitt suicide.

“None of these options are God’s plan”

We would like to share with you an aspect of our heart and ministry that evolved over the years as missionaries.

The subject:  Taking care of abandoned teenagers and giving them a new start in life.

We would like to share our story!

Think on this,

What do you do when an alcoholic mother, who has sold everything in her house to support her addiction, abandons her 12 year-old daughter and 15 year-old son, leaving them with:

and you have been taking them to your church for the last few months, and these kids live next door to you?

What would Jesus do?  And, what did we do?

Pat and I took these kids into our lives, and for the last 6 years, we have loved, nurtured, fed, educated, corrected, counseled, given them a nice place to live and celebrated their birthdays.

Gary turned out to be a great kid and will be graduating this year.  He learned to speak English and serves faithfully in our church as a:

  1. Home group leader,
  2. Youth leader assistant,
  3. Part time secretary,
  4. Hospitality host,
  5. Besides working in both of our children’s clubs.

Kimberly on her birthday

In conclusion, Did God bring us to Guatemala to rescue Gary and his sister?  Hmmm… well, God always has the answer and does not spare any expense to rescue just one.

These kids here walked into a miracle.
