Update July 2009
Dear Friends,
Thank you for receiving us as friends and laborers for the eternal plans of God. You are appreciated and kept in our focus every day as we give thanks to God for you.
May God birth in your hearts a fresh desire for a new outpouring of passion for His presence, His word and His work. Let Him do this in your heart; it’s what we all need.
Since our May 2009 update, we have:
- Hosted two short term mission groups. Our first from East Coast Christian Center, FL. and our second from Freedom Christian Center, FL.
- Led a retreat for 35 preadolescents
- Baptized 10 members of our church in our homemade tank
- Overhauled the structure of our labor force in our church
- Visited our son Luke in Arizona for his 30th birthday
- Hosted a conference on the subject of “what do I do now that I’m baptized in the Holy Spirit”
- Held a pastors lunch as a tribute to their effort in advancing the Kingdom of God
Hmmm… it does seem like a lot when you write it all down, doesn’t it? Thanks for helping us do all these works of love for the glory of God. You will be partakers in the heavenly reward with us.
Please pray about joining our Radio Ministry financially - We’d like to expand our radio program at least two more hours a week. The cost would be an additional USD 100 per month. Our program is highly rated and is producing church growth. Let us know. Thanks.
We’d like to conclude with some heartwarming smiles from Roberto and Porfirio, our sons in Guatemala.
Love,
Mike and Pat Black.

Update March 2009
To Those Whom We Cherish,
May there be an encouraging word or a kind gesture waiting for you today. Until then, know that we appreciate you and thank you for your friendship.
Mike.
Some interesting things to share:
In our last January update, we talked about a conference that we did on the “Baptism in the Holy Spirit” and how successful we felt it was. Since then, our church has experienced a breakthrough in growth, healing miracles almost every Sunday and a steady stream of visitors. Apart from that, people in our city are suddenly listening to our radio program and are calling us. It’s quite encouraging.
Just last Sunday:
-
On the women in this photo was healed of a scary rash that she had in several places on her body for several months.
- The young man in this photo had severe stomach problems for years, felt the touch of God, was healed, went home and ate what he couldn’t eat before.
- The other woman suffered from a digestive disorder that would not go away. When I prayed for her I distinctly felt something sizzling inside of her. She was healed and overwhelmed with the Presence of God that day.

In February, we were very honored to have Pastor Kevin Kerr with us from Covenant Word Church, Key West, Florida. One of the neat things we did together was going up to the work we are establishing in an unreached area of Guatemala that is only accesible by 4 wheel drive. Thanks Kevin for your friendship.
In conclusion:
- Web page: We do our best to keep the pictures on our web page fresh. The Photo Gallery is always interesting. Drop us a line. We’d love to hear from you - www.mikeblackministries.org
- Prayer Focus: a) Security and safety are the high priority for us; b) Our contributors need protection over their finances to enable them to continue sowing in our work in Guatemala.
Thanks for your friendship and interest in Mike Black Ministries,

Update December 2008
To Our Appreciated Friends,
We bless, love and appreciate you more than you will ever know. May God wrap His arms around your heart this Christmas season and give you the assurance of a prosperous New Year.
Here’s a little update of what we are doing this week in Guatemala.
A week with the kids
This week we started our annual Vacation Bible School in our “kids program” in Santiago. We are pleased to announce that we started with 250 children on Monday and we are sure it will grow throughout the week. Rachel, our missionary from England, has done a fantastic job organizing this move of God and the children will benefit.
The town where we have this Children’s Club, really needs this kind of activity to distract these children from dealing emotionally with the gang violence, hate and acts of revenge that they are exposed to everyday. Many of the young people of this town, between the ages of 13 to 25 years, are so vile and absorbed in darkness, so our Children’s Club makes a positive difference in a society out of control with lawlessness.
Personal Note:
- Pray with us that our adopted son, Porfirio, has no problem renewing his “visa.” We go on the 9th of December to talk with the US Embassy.
- Pray with us that our finances do no drop any lower than they are.
Be looking for a full-color newsletter at the end of December.
May God bless you,
Mike and Pat Black.

Update January 2009
To Those Who Mean So Much To Us,
We hope that you started your New Year firmly determined to see God move in your lives. God will be there for you.
Points of interest:
1.- A few days ago we held our first conference of the year called, “The Mantle From On High #1.” It focused only on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In one afternoon, we covered a drama giving an account of Acts 2, one testimony and three teachings. The need for this type of spiritual equipping is really out there. As a pastor, I want the people of my church and my city to be endued with the power of the Holy Spirit and walk in the blessings that follow this wonderful experience in God.
The days ahead are going to require all the spiritual equipping that God has available for His people.
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh.”
Here are some pictures of the conference.
Our conference was one of the most exciting outreaches to our city that we’ve experienced as a church. Apart from our congregation who attended, we had from 90 to 100 visitors through radio announcements and about that many people were baptized in the Holy Spirit. It was great to be used by God and give hungry Christians a place where they could hear the Word and receive ministry.
2.- In the last update, we asked that you would please believe God with us for the renewal of our adopted son’s “Passport Visa.” The US Embassy gave it to him. We are exceedingly grateful.
Pat and I would like to thank you so much for helping us. God will be there for you as well.

Missionaries to Guatemala.

Update October 2008
Greetings from Mike Black Ministries Guatemala
It’s always a pleasure to say hello, bless you and share a brief update of what’s happening with us and the ministry in Guatemala.
Our church, the “Revival Center” in Guatemala City has been our central focus of concern for the last several months due to a problem with city zoning. These ordinances did not exist 8 years ago when we took the building. To make a long story short, the owner of the building asked us to leave the facilities, giving us about 10 days to get out withoud anywhere to go.
We had a moving truck show up on the day that we were moving out, and as I said, without any place to go, store our belongings or put our office. Well, God came through the same day with some temporary breakthroughs. We were able to meet 3 Sundays in a school auditorium which ended this last Sunday and we were once again with no place to go.
Now, Guatemala City is very crowded and has a severe shortage of available places to rent, including warehouses for the use of a church. Well, God prevailed once again in spite of our concerns.
This past weekend we found a building which is better than I ever thought we’d have. To say the least, I know that this building is God’s choice.
Here is something to pray about and one question that needs a response from your heart >
Financially, the cost of rent has doubled in the last 8 years and the income of our church has not increased. The average tithe that we receive from our members is about $20 per month. The high end of the average income of our members runs about $250 per month. Most people make about $1.20 per hour.
Here is what we need:
1. For no more than a year, we would be very relieved if our income for our church could be supplemented with 8 people or churches donating $100 extra per month to help us out.
I know that in our new location, our church will grow, so we will not need the financial supplement for our church forever.
Would you please pray about that?
Please write us with your favorable response as soon as possible to: mbmguate@intelnet.net.gt.
Thank you so much.
Pastor - Missionary Mike Black.

Update August 2008
To our Esteemed Friends of the ministry,
Receive our warmest appreciation for the friendship and confidence that you continue to deposit in Pat and I and our Mike Black Ministries staff. It is our greatest desire that God helps you to overcome whatever is hindering the spiritual breakthrough that you need for your life. We are with you 100%.
Mike and Pat.
News:
In June, the opportunity arose to visit several Pastors in the States with whom we have had long term relations. My time with them was very fulfilling for me. It was precious to be with men of God who are still running the race and persevering for the prize.
To all of our Pastor friends in the United States, Pat and I send our deepest love and thoughts of encouragement. Keep up the good work.
In July, we had the privilege of hosting two short term mission groups from East Coast Christian Center, Merrit Island, Florida.
Here are some details:
Our first group came to Guatemala to visit and distribute some 2600 lbs. of food to 300 families in a refugee camp. These people are the survivors of a mammoth mudslide that buried 1000 people alive during a hurricane that passed through Guatemala about 3 years ago. Here are photos.

Apart from that work of love, the church family of East Coast Christian Center purchased and collected 500 pairs of new shoes for our newest children’s outreach in the remote mountains of Guatemala. Here are some photos. Continue…

Apart from that work of love, we worked with our kids and ministered a lot of hugs and gave them special attention.

Update March 2008
Dear friends and partners,
As it is our custom, we would like to bless you and always let you know how much we appreciate you and your friendship with us.
Missions and missionaries are a vital segment of God’s global plan for all people. Your mission field is just outside the door of your house; my mission field is in the middle of Central America, where Pat and I, including so many of you, have helped us to:
